Free invoice templates

Free invoice templates for the work you actually do

A blank invoice is hard to start. A good one shows you what a plumber, a photographer or a wholesaler normally puts on a bill, and lets you change it. Pick the one closest to your work, and make your invoice in a couple of minutes.

What is in every template

All of them are the same invoice maker underneath, set up with sample lines for one kind of work and a page that explains what that kind of invoice needs. That means:

  • The tax is worked out for you, using your country’s rules: GST with CGST, SGST or IGST in India, one sales tax in the United States, VAT in the UK and the UAE, GST/HST in Canada.
  • Your tax number is checked for format and, where the country has one, a check character.
  • You get a PDF or an Excel file. The PDF comes in a choice of looks and colours, with your logo if you like, and the total in words. The Excel file keeps the totals as live formulas, so you can carry on editing it.
  • Nothing is stored on our server. Your browser remembers your business details on your own device, and a button forgets them.

Not sure which one to pick? Choose the one whose lines look most like what you sell. You can change every word.

Questions people ask

Can I download a template as an Excel file?

Yes. Fill it in online and choose 'Download Excel' to get an .xlsx file, or 'Download PDF' for a finished invoice. In the Excel file the line amounts, the tax and the totals are live formulas, so if you change a quantity or a price in Excel the totals follow, worked out the way the invoice does it. We do not offer Word files.

Are the templates really free?

Yes. There is no sign-up and no charge. The free PDF carries a small 'Made with Invoiceo' line at the bottom. Invoices made inside a free account do not.

Which country are they for?

India, the United States, the United Kingdom, the UAE and Canada. The template opens in the country your browser suggests, and you can switch with the country box. The sample prices and tax rate follow the country you pick.

Can I change the sample lines?

Yes, that is the idea. They are there to show how a finished invoice looks, and you replace the words and prices with your own. Nothing is saved on our server.
